Keeping Your Office Eco-Friendly

These days, eco-friendly business is just good business. Even if you don’t care about the environment, you need to act like you do, because 93% of consumers say they’re more likely to be loyal to a company that is eco-friendly.

The real question is, how do you capture that loyalty? Recycling bins are great, but you’re going to need to go beyond that. Eco-friendly office cleaning is one of the easier ways to get started.

Eco-Friendly Office Cleaning is All About Creativity

If you’re looking to clean your office in an eco-friendly way, the real trick is finding homemade solutions that work just as well as what you’d find in the store. To be specific, here are three eco-friendly things that will freshen up your office: lemon juice, baking soda, and white vinegar.

Lemon juice is a natural disinfectant, which makes it perfect for the office kitchen. For a good example of this, take a coffee pot.

Run a pot of water through the coffeemaker, discard the water, and turn the machine off. Then mix a half-and-half solution of water and lemon juice. Pour it into the coffeemaker and wait fifteen minutes. Run the mixture two times, dump it out, and then run water through it twice. Just like that, your pot will once again produce great cups of coffee!

Baking soda removes odors and eats away at stains, making it the perfect solution for office bathroom woes.

It’s particularly good for cleaning toilets. You start by pouring in a cup of vinegar. Wait a minute, then pour in a cup of baking soda. Let it sit for ten minutes, then use a toilet brush to make sure it gets at the stains that are above the water line. Wait another ten minutes, scrub whatever stains are left, and flush.

Vinegar is a particularly versatile disinfectant and works well when paired with baking soda or lemon juice.

A combination of vinegar and lemon juice works great for the microwave. Put it in a bowl, then microwave it for five minutes. When you open the microwave door, all the grease will wipe away without a problem.
